Khinduka Fellowship Created for Students Pursuing Global Impact

Mary M. McKay, the Neidorff Family and Centene Corporation Dean of the Brown School, is pleased to announce the creation of the Shanti K. and Manorama Khinduka Fellowship program.

Established as an endowed fund through the generosity of Shanti and Manorama Khinduka, the Khinduka Fellowship program will enhance the Brown School’s commitment to student experiences in global settings. Each year, the Khinduka Fellowship will be awarded to up to 20 Brown School students pursuing field education opportunities and other educational experiences outside of the United States.

“This landmark gift underscores the Brown School’s global commitment and to individuals, families and communities throughout the world,” said McKay. “The Khinduka Fellowship builds upon Shanti Khinduka’s decades of service to our school, as well as the many philanthropic investments he and Mano have made in our academic community.”

Shanti Khinduka, George Warren Brown Distinguished University Professor Emeritus, served as dean of the Brown School from 1974 to 2004. His commitment to social work education and to enhancing the school’s international footprint endures and shapes every aspect of life at the Brown School.
