Brown School Partners with Truman Foundation to Provide Tuition Support

The Brown School is partnering with the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation to offer scholarships to graduate students pursuing a public service-oriented degree.

Truman Scholars will receive up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, as well as leadership training, and opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government. The Brown School will match the $30,000 Truman Scholarship with a Dean’s Scholarship for up to five students admitted to the following degree programs: Master of Social Work, Master of Public Health, Master of Social Work/Master of Social Policy dual degree, and Master of Public Health/Master of Social Policy dual degree.

The new scholarship opportunity builds on a multi-decade relationship between Washington University and the Truman Foundation. Since 1977, WashU has been home to 18 undergraduate Truman Scholars.

This is the Truman Foundation’s first graduate partnership in Missouri – Harry Truman’s home state. Established by Congress in 1975 as the living memorial to President Harry S.
