Day of Discovery and Dialogue 2017: Finding Common Ground 2/27/2017 Diversity; Faculty Share this Story: Day of Discovery and Dialogue 2017 On February 22-23, 2017, the Washington University in St. Louis community gathered to learn from one another and gain a deeper understanding through each other’s experiences. Our objective was simple: to further open hearts and minds through conversation and to discover what makes each of us unique and what binds us so strongly together as a community. This year, our focus was on the timely and challenging issues of identity and class, and how each plays out in our day-to-day lives. McKay, Neidorff Family and Centene Corporation Dean of the Brown School, took part in a panel discussion with regional college and university leaders, Forging a Collaborative Path for Inclusion and Change in St. Louis: The Role of Higher Education. Professor Vetta Sanders Thompson shared her expertise in the panel discussion The Impact of Class. The session was moderated by Mark Rank, Herbert S. Hadley Professor of Social Welfare.
